How Helo Works

Helo is a post-sale homeowner relationship platform used by licensed real estate agents. Here's how homeowners receive messages and how consent works.

Agent adds homeowner

After a property closing, the licensed real estate agent registers the homeowner in Helo. Homeowners do not self-register — only their agent can add them.

Welcome SMS with activation link

Helo sends a single welcome SMS with a link to heloapp.co/welcome. This is the only message sent before the homeowner opts in. No further messages are sent until the homeowner takes action.

Homeowner opts in

The homeowner visits the activation page, confirms their details, checks the consent box, and taps "Activate My Home Line". Only after this explicit opt-in does Helo begin sending messages.

Consent & Messaging Details

Explicit Opt-In Required

Homeowners must explicitly opt in by visiting their personalized activation page and tapping "Activate." A consent checkbox must be checked before activation completes. The consent timestamp is recorded in our system. No messages beyond the initial welcome SMS are sent without this explicit action.

What Messages Are Sent

After opt-in, homeowners receive messages from their agent via Helo, including home anniversary check-ins, seasonal maintenance reminders, vendor recommendations, and personalized follow-ups. All messages are drafted in the agent's voice and approved by the agent before delivery.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on the agent's touchpoint schedule and homeowner interactions. Typical frequency ranges from a few messages per month to occasional check-ins. Standard message and data rates may apply.

Opt-Out & Help

Homeowners can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. To get help, reply HELP. Homeowners can also text START or ACTIVATE to re-subscribe. Opt-out requests are processed immediately and no further messages will be sent.

Alternative Opt-In

Homeowners can also opt in by texting START to the Helo phone number. This serves as an alternative consent mechanism for homeowners who prefer to initiate via text rather than the web activation page.
